Literacy for senior infants
Good morning,
I hope you are all well and enjoying the lovely sunshine.
Please find some ideas for literacy for senior infants.
Reading: Please continue to encourage the children to read daily. There are lots of fantastic books on the oxford reading tree website, they have
graded readers for all abilities. Here is a link for the website
Writing: The students can write 'My News' where they write a few simple sentences. We were working on this in class. For example Today is Wednesday, It is a sunny day etc. The children love making up their own sentences and sounding out words themselves if they don't know how to spell them.
The students can practice tricky words. It is good to keep looking at the tricky words as these words cannot be easily sounded out. You can ask your child to put a tricky word in to a sentence or write a tricky word. Please see the list of tricky words which I have added.
