Kookaburra and Tiddalick the Frog

Last week we were learning all about an Australian aboriginal story called 'Tiddalick the Frog.'

In the story there are a lot of native Australian animals including wombats, kangaroos, eels, kookaburras and echidnas! We had great fun researching these animals and looking up images of what they look like in real life.

During the week we managed to link the story not only into our History lessons but also Music, Drama, Art, English and Geography!

We worked in small groups to reenact the story of Tiddalick the Frog. Check out the cool masks we used in the photos below.

You can watch a short animated version of the story here https://youtu.be/0y3Ta5xcKV4 and singalong with the Kookaburra song here https://youtu.be/ysaskdFpPz8

Don't forget to check out our fantastic art work below. We illustrated our favourite images from the story using oil pastel crayons!
